Holy Sheep - I'm 1 Already?

Wow - I can't believe I've been here a year, it seems like just yesterday when I met Mommy and Daddy for the first time in the hospital room. I have accomplished a lot in my first year, from smiling, to laughing, to rolling over, and crawling, to cruising, and now walking - jeesh I sure have done a lot!

Check out the 1st Birthday pics!

We had Heidi Migella take Connor's 1st Birthday pics last weekend, unfortunately he wasn't in the best of moods. On Wednesday he came down with an unexplained fever, but we chalked it up to either the stomach flu that CJ had or teething. By Saturday morning his fever was gone and he was acting fine. When we woke him up from his nap that afternoon to go get the pics, the Butt woke up with him. He was unexplainably in a bad mood, but we decided to continue on and head to Heidi's for the pics anyway. She tried everything to get him to smile and occasionally he perked up, but for the most part he didn't crack much of a smile in any of the pics. However, those are some of the best pictures because it looks like he has attitude. Sunday morning he woke up with a rash on his body, so we called my mom an she suggested Roseola. I looked it up and yep, he had every symptom. One main symptom - fussiness and he had it in spades that afternoon.

You can check out Heidi's blog for a preview of the pics, I'll post more soon.

For those who remember, Heidi did Connor's amazing newborn pics and she did an amazing job on these as well. Thanks, Heidi

Is that rain? No it's my first snow!

So, it's snowing in Georgia, something Mommy and Daddy says doesn't happen much. When I went down for my nap this afternoon it was cold and rainy outside, but when I woke up everything was pretty and white outside. The next thing I knew I was getting bundled up in my finest outerwear and heading out to see this white stuff they kept calling snow.

At first I wasn't so happy, especially with all the clothes they put on me, I mean come on, I had two pairs of pants, a shirt, a hoodie, a heavy jacket, a sock hat, two hoods, and mittens. I think that's a little much! Mommy carried me out, since there was no way I was going to be able to walk in all those clothes and Daddy took our pictures. Aren't we cute?

When we first got outside, I kind of liked the white stuff falling from the sky, then it got on my face and in my eyes and I couldn't see, so I wasn't happy. Mommy stood me up in the snow so I could see what was on the ground and they could take my picture. Mommy laughed and said I looked like the kid from "A Christmas Story." I don't know who that is, but I think I'm going to have to check it out.

Right after this picture of me was taken, I just fell backwards into the snow; thanks to all the clothes I couldn't balance real well. Daddy laughed and said I was making snow angels, at this point the snow was pelting me in the face and I couldn't roll over, again that's to Mommy and Daddy and all the clothes they out me in, so I started screaming and they just kept laughing at me - some parents I have, jeesh!

When I calmed down Daddy made me a snow kid in the front yard. Here we are with him. He kind of scared me a little, but Daddy calmed me down and we took our picture with him.

Shortly after we went back inside to warm up the power cut off, Mommy told me it was just temporary, but I didn't care all my toys have batteries so I was still able to play all afternoon. By the time dinner rolled around, the lights still weren't on so Mommy and Daddy lit these things called candles all over the house; the light they made was very pretty, but I couldn't touch them, Mommy said it would hurt. That night we camped out in Mommy and Daddy's bedroom; that morning when it got colder we huddled up together under the big down comforter and I got to sleep in the middle. That next morning we took a ride in the big truck to see all of the snow and to see how much of the town didn't have power. When Daddy went to work later that morning Mommy and I went over to Mrs. Beth and Mr. Randy's to keep wrn in front of their wood stove. That night we went over to Mr. Eric and Mrs. Laura's to spend the night in a warm house and take a warm bath. I slept in my new friend Wyatt's bed and he let me borrow two of his stuff animals to keep me company in the bed.

Luckily, when we got home on Tuesday night we had power and we didn't have to go to anyone elses house and spend the night. I slept like a log, since I was finally able to sleep in my own bed again.

So many new things to do and see

I have been doing so much these last few weeks. I've been cruising around furniture, chasing kitties, feeding myself, and oh yeah, learning to walk! Mommy and Daddy enticed me to take my first few steps on Monday by dangling the kitty in front of me and since he's so elusive now that I can crawl, I took the bait. I've been taking a few steps each day and Mommy and Daddy get so excited, personally I don't see what the big deal is, but hey it gets me lots of attention, so who am I to complain :)

My new best friend was born on January 28th, I've been waiting to see him for a long time. His name is Wyatt Elsner and I finally got to meet him the day after he was born. However, I figured I was the smallest thing in the world, that was until I met him and I realized I wasn't the smallest, he now was. I was very intrigued by him, but Mommy and Daddy wouldn't let me touch him. That kind of made me angry, but then people started taking pictures and all the sudden I forgot why I was angry; the lights were on me and I had to SMILE. Mommy says I'm a "ham," I don't know what that means, but I do like ham so if she says I'm one I believe her.

After Ms. Laura and Mr. Eric brought Baby Wyatt home we went over to visit, take them dinner, and to play with the baby. Wyatt was in the cradle and I tried to climb in to see him, but no one would let me and I kept getting in trouble. Finally Mommy got him out of the cradle and I was finally able to see him up close. It kinda made me upset that Mommy was holding another baby, but she let me sit beside her on the couch with Baby Wyatt, so I guess that was okay, at least he didn't have to come home with us.

The other day I was wondering around the house and I discovered a pretty cool hiding place.
However the bad part is that you can see in from the outside, so I guess it's not really a hiding place as much as a hangout. That's me in Ava's cage. I couldn't really figure out how to lock myself in, so I settled for opening and closing the door over and over.

So the whole feeding myself thing is going pretty well, I just wish my food wasn't always so slippery! Here is me at dinner time the other night, I had ravioli then I made a finger-paint mural on my dinner tray. I've tried lots on new foods, some I like, some I don't. Luckily the dogs are always walking around me highchair, so they pick up whatever I throw over the edge to them.

We went to the Gwinnett Gladiators hockey game on Valentine's night with Nana and Papaw and had a great time. I loved all the lights and the players moving around on the ice. Mommy and Nana took me down to the glass while the team was warming up so I could beat on the glass and watch them up close. After the first period Mommy and Nana took me to get some ice cream at Bruster's. One of Mommy's students works there so she gave me a little scoop of vanilla, while Mommy and Nana got chocolate ice cream. They let me crawl all around in the lobby and I even got to show Nana my new walking moves. Before we left Nana snapped a picture of me, Mommy, and Daddy in front of the pink ice (it was dyed pink for Pink in the Rink for Breast Cancer). Aren't we the cutest little family?

So my latest trick is climbing the stairs. I tried it once at Mr. Eric and Mrs. Laura's and from then I was hooked, now I love to go up the stairs as many times as Mommy and Daddy will follow me up. Here's a picture of me the first night I crawled all the way up to the top.
Well, it's time for me to eat some supper so I better go. I can't wait to see you all soon.

Love ya, Connor xoxo

A "Me" Video

I made this video at the beginning of January when we got our new iMac computer. I used our digital camera and it turned out pretty good. Here's the final edit, I still have more practice. We'll post another soon. Nicole

Growing, growing, growing up

We've had an eventful last few weeks in Colbert, but we've had fun. I went back to Ms. Mary's when Mommy went back to school and I got to see all my friends again, like Ella, Jose, Daniel, and Patrick. I had a lot of fun, but over that weekend I got sick. Daddy stayed home with me on Monday and Mommy stayed home with me on Tuesday, then she made me go to Dr. Sprayberry's because I wasn't getting any better. He said I had an ear infection in my right ear and that another was starting in my left ear and that I also had some wheezing. To see what the wheezing was, Mommy had to hold this duck-looking thing over my face while this smokey stuff came out of the ducks mouth, they called it a breathing treatment, I call it tourture. I fought while Mommy was trying to hold this thing over my face, I won round one when I kicked it out of her hand and the medicine went all over the table, but the nurse came back and brought more. This time I wasn't able to fight as well since they strapped my in my carrier bucket. When the breathing treatment didn't help any, Dr. Sprayberry told Mommy that I had RSV and that is luckily was not asthma. He sent me home with an antibiotic and my ears started feeling better immediately. On Wednesday Daddy stayed home with me again, but we had to go back to Dr. Sprayberry's for a recheck and they tourtured me again with the breathing treatment, however this time I figured they were goign to do it wether I liked it or not, so I just gave up the fight right away. Mommy and Daddy had to go back to work on Thursday so I got to stay with Nana all day and I got to play with Papaw when he came home from work. I was finally able to go back to Ms. Mary's and play with all of my friends on Friday.

On Saturday I got to go back over to Nana and Papaw's to spend the night, while Mommy and Daddy went out for Mommy's birthday. We played games, we played with the dogs, they helped me learned to walk some, and we went to church on Sunday morning. While I was at their house though, I decided that I was too old for my bottle and that all I wanted to drink out of was my sippy cup. Bottles are for baby's and I am almost 10 months old, I'm hardly a baby! I also decided that Cherry flavored Pedialyte was the best and that Mommy had been holding out on me, making me drink the unflavored kind. Mommy and Daddy came over to pick me up on Sunday and we went to eat at a Japanese Steak House for Mommy's birthday. I liked being there with everyone and getting to watch them make dinner, however when they first made the flame go really big, it scared me and I started to cry. Luckily, Mommy and Nana were there by me to calm me down. When we went back to the house all the adults got to eat red velvet cake, but I couldn't have any cake so Daddy and I had some vanilla ice cream that Nana bought especially for me. When we went home that night I had another epiphany - I wanted to start feeding myself dinner, rather than having Mommy or Daddy feed me baby food. Again, I'm almost 10 months old, hardly a baby anymore.

Mommy took me to Dr. Sprayberry's on Monday for my 9 month check-up - we are a little behind schedule with the check-ups :) I have grown to 29 1/2 inches tall and I weigh 19 lbs and 10 oz. Dr Sprayberry says I'm a little on the small side of the weight category and that we're going to have to watch it, but I'm in the 85th percentile for height, so I guess I'm doing something right. I don't understand how I can be too small, I eat and eat and eat, but I guess I do burn a lot of calories chasing Ava and the kitties around the house and racing Ella down the hall at Ms. Mary's!

We've had an adventure the past few weeks, but we've had a ton of fun and I'm starting to grow big and strong. I better get ack to playing with all my friends. Love you all, Connor

Happy New Year's Everyone!

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year's, even though Mommy and Daddy wouldn't let me stay up to see the Peach Drop on TV, but hey they didn't stay up either so I guess I didn't miss too much. Mommy took me to get my 9 month pictures the other day, here are a few, I hope you like them. Check out my new teeth!

So I had the best Christmas ever! Mommy and I made sugar cookies on Tuesday for Santa and his reindeer, here's a picture of me helping Mommy with the cookies. Playing with the cookie cutters was my favorite part.

Santa was really good to me, he brought things to me at my house as well as Nana and Papaw's - I wonder how he knew we'd be there? Here are a few pictures of me opening my gifts on Christmas morning - I had an absolute blast, however no one would let me eat the paper like I wanted to, so that kind of made me mad.
I got a Leap Frog activity table, which I absolutely love. A ride on fire truck that makes lots of noises, a see n'say, and a pelican that follows me around and talks and sings songs. My Aunt Becky got me a puppy dog that talks and sings songs to me, he's great.

I had a great time at home with Mommy and Daddy, we got to spend most of our time together through out the two weeks of Christmas break. I had a little trouble going back to Ms. Mary's since I was so use to spending all of my time with Mommy and Daddy.

My fourth tooth just came in up top, now I can really take a bite out of Mommy when I get upset, since biting out my anger is my new thing. Nana says that I've got two more teeth fixin' to come in on the bottom, but I can't tell just yet, I'm sure I'll feel them soon! As for walking, I'm really trying, but I can't seem to make the bottom half of my body work with the top half and move together. I guess I'll have to work on that. Talk to you all soon!

Love ya, Connor
