I miss Tybee Island already . . .

Last week we went to Tybee Island for vacation and we had a blast. We left on Sunday and came home on Friday. The trip down there was a little trying on all of us, mostly because I was so excited and I didn't want to be in my car seat. I mean Ava and Sable got to roam around the truck, why couldn't I? It's just not fair.

We rented a little cottage about two blocks from the beach, here is a picture of it.

It was just big enough for us and I even got my own room too! That night we went down to the beach to look at the pier and walk around, then we went to eat at Spanky's on the beach. Here are a few pictures of Daddy and I walking around in the water.

The next morning we got up early and headed down to the beach before it got too hot. I loved playing in the sand and trying to out run the waves. This beach trip was definitely better than my last beach adventure, mostly because I felt good and wasn't teething! I actually wanted to get in the water this time and play. We went home before it got too hot to eat lunch and take a nap. That night we went to the Tybee Island Marine Science Center on the beach so that I could go see turtles and my most favorite alligators. Here are some pictures of us looking at the alligators and posing with the big turtle outside.

On Tuesday morning we all got up and went for a bike ride on the beach. It was really neat being able to ride on the beach and almost get close enough to touch the waves. We rode from one end of the beach to the next and back. Then we took Ava and Sable to the dog beach at Fort Pulaski. It wasn't really much of a beach, but they both liked playing in the water. Daddy liked seeing all the bog ships coming from the Savannah port and Mommy liked looking for all the different shells on the beach, me I liked playing in the sand and watching the big waves from the boats. That night we went back to the beach to play in the water after the sun went down, so it wasn't so hot.

On Wednesday we took another bike ride, but at the end of the ride we got off our bikes to play in the water before we went back to the house. We went back to Fort Pulaski, but this time Ava and Sable stayed at home. We wandered around the Fort and Daddy took lots of pictures. After the Fort we headed into Savannah to look around and walk down River Street. Here are a few pictures of our adventures that day.

On Thursday morning we got up and went to Breakfast at the The Breakfast Club, one of Tybee's most famous restaurants and one of Mommy and Daddy's favorite movies. Mommy and Daddy both had the shrimp and grits breakfast, it didn't look too good to me, but they both said it was the best they ever had. After breakfast we headed back to the house to get everything ready for our next adventure that day. We rode our bikes to the Tybee Lighthouse and climbed all 178 stairs to the top. Here are some pictures of our climb.

After the lighthouse adventure, I was getting kind of antsy, so Mommy and Daddy decided we should head to the beach from where we were rather than wait to get back on our side of the island. However they didn't expect the sand to be different on the side of the island we were on, but it was. Mommy and Daddy both had to wind up pushing their bikes a good portion of the way because the sand wasn't packed tight at all and they could barely ride on the sand. After a few minutes of me being very unhappy in my bike seat (hey, I wanted to play in the ocean, what's a kid suppose to do?) they stopped and let me get out. I played in the sand while Daddy swam in the ocean and Mommy walked the edge. I was so tired that when we got back on our bikes to head back to the house I feel asleep in my bike seat, climbing those stairs really took a lot out of me :) That night we went to another famous Tybee restaurant, The Crab Shack. I have to say this was probably one of my favorite places in Tybee because of all of the alligators! I even got to feed an alligator - yay! Here are some pictures of us at The Crab Shack.

On Friday morning we all slept in a little, but we still had time to take one last bike ride down the beach before we packed up and left. When we got done, we played in the ocean one last time and headed back to the house to pack and get ready to head home.

I can't wait to go back to the beach!

Love you, Connor

A few pictures from my latest adventures

Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to lately, I hope you like them!

Picking strawberries with Mommy and Daddy at Moon Farm in Colbert. Yummy! One week later Mommy and I took Nana back to get more, that time I ate most of the strawberries I picked instead of putting them in the bucket.

Watching the Athens Twilight (a bike race in downtown Athens) with Daddy. It rained most of the time we were out there and I had to change into my backup outfit to stay dry. I loved watching the bikers go around and around, hopefully next year when we go it will be dry!

Swimming lessons at the YMCA - I love the water, just like my Daddy!

Here is a picture of me, Mommy, Papaw, and Granddaddy. We took this when we went down to get the car for Papaw.

One of my new favorite things is to help Daddy cut the grass. I don't get to help very long, but here's a great picture of me helping.

As you can see we are having lots of fun, so far this summer. Next week we and heading to Tybee Island, so I will be sure to post lots more when we get back!

Love you all, Connor

It's almost summer!

I had a great birthday and I am glad I got to spend it with so many great people. Nana, Papaw, Grandpa Charlie, Aunt Becky, Taylor, Shelby, Aunt Jillian, Ms. Carrie, Jamey, Jack, and Ms. Beth all came to see me and help me celebrate. We had a train themed party, with train ticket invitations and I even wore my train conductor overalls for the occasion. I got lots of great things including a Handy Manny workbench and toolbox, a golf club set (which I like to call hockey sticks), a remote control car (that I like to chase kitties with), a toy chainsaw, racing cars, and lots of train toys. Here are a few pictures of me opening my presents, which took quite a while because I wanted to play with each toy as I opened it and not open the others :)

Mommy made cupcakes for my big day and she let me help to mix them up, here I am tasting the batter to make sure she did it right.

And here's me eating my cupcakes.

This year there were no tears when everyone sang happy birthday, but I didn't like everyone staring at me so I got a little scared and I made Mommy stay with me until they were done. Jack, Jamey, and I got to play outside with all my new toys and some of my old ones, while all the grown ups talked and caught up. Jack and Jamey even taught me how to ride my PowerWheels truck that Santa brought me for Christmas. Nana and Papaw helped me learn how to steer, here's a few pictures of us after the party. Papaw stayed outside with me and helped me steer around the drive way, we were out there forever and I had so much fun. Thanks to him I am now an awesome PowerWheels driver; I can drive all around and even park the truck in the garage between the cars!

The next weekend, Mommy, Daddy, and I went to the Gwinnett Gladiators game to watch - HOCKEY! My most favorite sport ever!!!! Daddy bought me a hockey stick and I love it, I carry it all over. I'm still scared of Maximus the mascot for the Gladiators, but I had an awesome time and the choo-choo's even came to watch the hockey game too (Side note: Connor thought there were choo-choo's in the arena when goals were scored and the sirens would go off). On Saturday morning, Mommy and I went to Memorial Park for an Easter egg hunt. I got to see the Easter Bunny, from a distance, as I wouldn't let Mommy get very close to him. Giant stuffed animals scare me - thanks Maximus! Sunday was Easter, so we went to Church with Nana, Papaw, and Aunt Becky, then we headed over to Aunt Becky's for Easter lunch. Luckily the Easter Bunny found me because we were all over the place that day and he even left me some eggs to hunt at Aunt Becky's.

That next week was Spring Break so Mommy and I got to hang out and play all week long. We went to the park with Mommy's friends and their boys and played on the playground and fed the ducks and turtles. Here we are watching them eat all of the bread that we didn't feed ourselves.

Luckily Mommy brought good bread and not the stale stuff because we got hungry feeding the ducks and decided to feed ourselves as well! Later that week Mommy and I met Ms. Katie and Hudson back up at the South Clarke Park and we got to run around together again. Hopefully well do it again when school's out!

The next Friday night Aunt Jillian brought her boyfriend Daniel down from South Carolina and we all went to the Great Southland Stampede Rodeo that Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Jillian use to help to put on. They hadn't been back for a few years and it was my first time and I LOVED IT! All weekend long I talked about the ro-reo (rodeo) and I still do from time to time, I can't wait to go back next year - look out bulls, here I come! On Saturday we headed down to Thomaston to visit Granddaddy and Grandma Rachel and to pick up Papaw's new car that Ganddaddy gave him. I'll have Mommy post new pictures soon!

Love you all, Connor

Happy 2nd Birthday, Connor!

Connor,
Your Daddy and I just wanted to wish you a Happy 2nd Birthday. These past two years with you have been the best two years that we've both had. You have brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives and I know that as each year passes you will continue to do so.

You are growing into such a little man, it seems like just yesterday we were bringing home a tiny, little brand new baby boy and here you are already two. We have loved watching you grow and discover new things each and every day. Each day is a new adventure.

You are the sweetest, most loving little boy and we both love you with all of our hearts!

Love, Mommy and Daddy XOXOXOXO

Welcome to 2010 Everyone!

Well Christmas was a blast and I got lots of great things.

We spent Christmas Eve at Nana and Papaw's with everybody, but I wasn't feeling very good so we didn't make it to church that night for the Christmas Eve service. I was cutting teeth and had a temperature of 101 and was not being cooperative so Mommy and Daddy took me home instead.

When we got home Christmas Eve, Mommy and I put Santa's cookies, milk and the reindeer treats out on the table. However, Mommy let me pick out the cookies to put on the plate and I decided that I needed to taste test for Santa before he got here. Here's a picture of me picking out Santa's cookies - they sure were yummy!

I got up pretty early Christmas morning, but Mommy, Daddy, and I lounged in bed for a little bit before we got up and went to open presents. When I rounded the corner into the living room the first thing I saw was a big PowerWheels truck that Santa brought me. I was so excited that I yelled "beep, beep" and ran over to it. I tried to look at myself in the mirrors, like Mommy does, but I couldn't see myself in them. Daddy put me in and showed me how to make it go, but I was a little scared and wanted out immediately. I still haven't gotten back in it yet, but Mommy and Daddy both rode on it and I do enjoy trying to look at myself in the mirror, so maybe one day I'll get back in it. Santa also brought me a TagJunior book reader, some blocks, books, and cars, lots of cars!

After we ate breakfast and got cleaned up Nana, Papaw, Aunt Becky, Taylor, and Shelby came over to eat Christmas lunch and open presents. We had lots of good food and I loved getting to spend time with everyone, especially since I was feeling much better. Nana and Papaw bought me a Handy Manny doll with tools and a visor that looks like his, a Chuck the Talking truck with a hard-hat, and some jammies. Aunt Becky gave a blanket with Cars "beep, beeps" on it that I absolutely love and sleep with everynight. I was so tired when everyone left that afternoon that I slept for over three hours! Here's some more Christmas pictures for you to enjoy!

The New Year has been great so far. I get to hang out with my friends all day at Ms. Mary's and come home and spend time with Mommy, Daddy, Ava, Sable, the Ditties (kitties), and the Goaps (goats). Our goaps have even started having goap babies and I love to go out and play with them. For a while I had a slight obsession with oin-oinks (pigs), but since the goap babies have been born I am diggin' them now. I tell Mommy everyday on our way home that "I wanna go baby goaps" which means that I can't wait to get home and get my boots on and go see my babies. I also have been helping out at the house more, doing some chores. I help put the dog bowls up at night and I go out and help feed the goaps.

My birthday's coming up soon and right now we're trying to decide between choo-choos and Mamniy (Handy Manny) - maybe we can have a Mamniy Choo-Choo party???? I'll have to throw that one at Mommy and see what she says. Well, I'm off to play with my goaps - love you all!

Connor XOXOXOXO
